India Literacy Project (ILP) is a nonprofit founded in 1990 that partners with government schools across 10 states in India to improve enrollment, retention, and learning outcomes for children in underserved communities. ILP has reached over 3 million children in 14,000+ schools across 2,800+ villages through programs in foundational literacy, hands-on science, hands-on electronics, digital content, libraries, ICT skills, and career guidance. ILP works through a three-stage model -- Schooling (enrollment and retention), Learning (quality classroom interventions), and Earning (career guidance and pathways) -- partnering with local NGOs, government education departments, and CSR foundations to strengthen the public school system from within. ILP is registered as 501c3 in the US and a public chartiable trust in India.
